As we began their session, Sara laughed and told me "we aren't good snugglers." I smiled and knew she was wrong in an instant as they comfortably fell into one another's arms against the chilly breeze that had rolled in on the Capitol square. Sara is an OR nurse and Scott runs a business with his family- they know what it is to be busy and she admitted that it's hard to find time for date night. Especially when it's time to plan a wedding, that becomes the case for far too many of us happy couples, don't you think?
That's why I love starting my couples' engagement sessions with a drink or two and some time to chat. I believe that your engagement session should be like a fun date! One with a third wheel, sure, but I promise I'm at least sort of fun to hang out with. The three of us met at Graze for some yummy appetizers and some session-fuel (beer for Scott and I, an old-fashioned for Sara!) on a Wednesday night that threatened to pour on us. That didn't kill our mood, though- we set off on a little adventure around the square and through some lesser-traveled paths for me and my camera. These two laugh and tease one another so easily, with a playful kindness that I know will make their wedding day such a great experience! Here are some of my favorites so far, enjoy!
Looking forward to warmer weather when your wedding day rolls around, guys- thanks for such a great time on your engagement session!
