Jenna & Adhem’s Spring Green Wedding at the Hilltop
Sometimes, a wedding just feels like a perfect
day. Now, if you know me, you know I'm a hopeless romantic and I find joy in every wedding, no matter what- because it's about the marriage, not the events of the day or the details that pull it together. But some weddings are just full of all the feels.
Some weddings fall in place perfectly with a harmony that can be felt by everyone there. That's what Jenna & Adhem's day was like.
I was so excited when Jenna contacted me to meet with her and Adhem last year! I knew from Facebook that they were engaged, and as I always do when my friends announce their engagement, I had been sitting back and hoping to see her name pop into my inbox. I never expect anyone I know to hire me, but I do hope... And you see, right about this time of the summer 7 years ago was when Jenna's sister, Stacy, was walking me through the Bruce Company to select flowers for our wedding.
I knew Stacy because we worked together at Epic, and when she learned that I was engaged she told me that she and her sister Jenna had some experience with wedding flowers and could offer their services to me. They did a gorgeous job! Then, their sweet family hired me for a family portrait session, where we had a blast and created some memories for them. So, I knew how fun this family is and I was secretly dying to be there for this day.
And what a day it was! Even though it started out with a little rain, the weather really cooperated with me and settled into a comfortable cloud cover just before their first look. They began their day and said their vows beneath the stunning catalpa tree at the Hilltop in Spring Green
- perfect, because Adhem is an arborist! Jenna's wedding dress was made for her, so I was extra grateful that they gave me plenty of time for a few short sets of bride & groom portraits throughout the course of the day. The bride's family was just as fun and loving as I remember them from that portrait session so many years ago, and the groom's family certainly proved that they're a perfect match. The love, you guys. The LOVE! It was beautiful, and we ended the day with a soft, purple evening sky as everyone danced to the light of the tiki torches and the beats of the fantastic DJ.
To the Holbergs and the Theriaults, I am forever grateful to have been a part of such a wonderful celebration of family and love. Thank you for having me, guys! Enjoy the peek!
